gettin' the lingo down

can anyone please tell me what 'meme' means and give some examples of usage??

usually i can work stuff out from the context but this has me schtumped...

Gee, theres a ten page thingy on meme on wikipedia. Only a linguist will be able to decypher what it's trying to say.

ok i've looked it up. an example is the tagging; something that is passed on, either an idea or a game or something like that

I always thought it meant "Me, Me" as in - this thing I'm writing is a meme cos it is about "Me, Me".

Also never use Wikipedia as it is full of po-faced, boob-suckling, indulgent double talk.
